The warm weather pattern that we have been experiencing is a welcome relief after the long, cold winter. Spring is in the air and the return of the robins makes it official.

Today I met with a 17 year old girl whose life changed dramatically a year ago. She had been drinking with her friends and was involved in an accident. Someone in the other vehicle died. Instead of graduating with her class she will be spending the next seven years in prison. She made a decision to turn her life over to the Lord and has been witnessing to other inmates. Right now she is not in the general population. She will be processed in the next six to eight weeks. She really wants to be involved in our discipleship program. This is very important because of negative influences in the prison. She is young and impressionable. PLEASE PRAY that she will be able to move into our ministry as soon as she is released into the general population.

The work that takes places in our one-on-one ministry is slow and very valuable. We often see people take three steps forward and two steps back. The test of time brings results as we are faithful to persevere in the lives of these women. I spent nine and a half years alongside an inmate who is now out of prison. She has a job, a place to live, and is attending a solid church. She recently gave her testimony at an ex-offenders dinner. It was very encouraging to see a changed life, not only when she was in prison, but now that she is outside of the prison as well. The time that we invest in the lives of the women in prison has an incredible impact for good in our society. She has seen the Lord restore relationships within her family, and He has given her new life. I hope that you are encouraged with this story as much as I am.

Another volunteer is getting started in the one-on-one ministry. She will begin her orientation at the prison on April 4th, and I hope to begin training her in April as her work situation allows. In addition to that, I am about to launch a new volunteer that has been in training and will soon be working with her own group of women. The Lord’s timing is perfect.

THANK YOU FOR PRAYING
• for the Chaplain and her health
• for adequate training for volunteers
• for adequate training for the inmates that we meet with
• that the Lord will provide the health and energy to persevere in ministry

Your prayers and finances keep me in prison. I thank the Lord for you.
