Dean and Kathy Thomas

Picture
Dean and Kathy Thomas are Oakbrook’s missionaries serving with Wycliffe Bible Translators presently at Wycliffe Headquarters in Orlando, Florida.

“As a result of our deep love and respect for the Word of God, it is our passion that people in every language group around the world have the opportunity to experience the life-changing power of the living God, through reading the Bible in their own language.”

After having established a literacy program in the churches among the Guji people in southeastern Ethiopia, they have expanded their vision to promote literacy programs around the world. In their new positions on the WORD leadership team, they will be working closely with literacy teams on the field, and strategically planning programs on the international level to promote them for funding among U.S. Christians.

Their children value their growing up years in Ethiopia and both are now in college. Aaron is in his fourth year at Iowa State in Landscape Architecture, and Heather is a sophomore at The King’s College in New York City, preparing for a career in international relations. Both are active in their student Christian youth groups.
